Founded on 2006 through a merger with Thermo Electron and Fisher Scientific, Thermo Fisher Scientific is a world leader serving science as a supplier of scientific instrumentation, reagents, consumables, and software services. Their global team delivers an unrivaled combination of innovative technologies, purchasing convenience and pharmaceutical services through their industry-leading brands, including Thermo Scientific, Applied Biosystems, Invitrogen, Fisher Scientific, Unity Lab Services, Patheon, and PPD.

VIVO was commissioned due to our experience assisting Thermo Fisher in the past, having successfully completed the Science Hotel facility in Cambridge, MA occupied by Thermo Fisher until recently, and customizing the Science Hotel suites to meet their needs.  The new facility at Lexington Corporate Center, 10 Maguire Road consists of approximately 12.000 SF of office areas and research facilities, equally distributed in area.

The labs and office areas share multiple access points, facilitating the immediate connection from one zone into the other. Specific groups have direct access points to their work zones within the labs, underlining the continuity of work flow between the two distinct areas. The office area was conceived as a series of independent neighborhoods connected by a common circulation spine. Each neighborhood consists of a central co-working/ meeting space outfitted with AV technology and writable surfaces. Flanking the central work area, semi-private offices provide team members with focused work areas for individual tasks. In the labs, a series of mass-spec rooms were outfitted with casement windows that permit easy access to equipment on the other side of the room, cutting down on set-up time of the equipment.
