Seres Therapeutics is a leading Life Sciences company aiming to transform patients’ lives worldwide with revolutionary microbiome therapeutics.

Seres brought us in as consulting architects to redesign their facility at 200 Sidney Street in Cambridge, MA, where they occupied the first, second, and fourth floors. The first and second floors were a combination of lab and office areas, while the fourth floor was mainly an executive area.

Now, the first floor holds the main R&D lab, a bioprocessing fermentation lab, a pathogen lab, and supporting areas. The second-floor labs are for molecular research, tissue culture, immunology, and shared equipment clusters. The adjacent office areas were designed for maximum flexibility and accommodate low-partition workstations, shared offices, small breakout areas, and touch-down kitchenettes. The strategic use of off-whites tones with shades of gray and the placement of the decorative fixtures across the common areas was among the place’s eye-catchers.

Custom millwork of brushed aluminum with off-white solid surface counters complemented by a gray tile-backsplash and a silver-toned vinyl plank floor give the common break room and kitchen areas a fresh new look.
