Codiak BioSciences is expanding from approximately 6,000 sf to 18,920 sf at 500 Tech Square, Cambridge, MA. They are moving into previously constructed multi-tenant lab space which is being repurposed for their science and research. Three existing labs are being harnessed for either BSL-1 or general lab use. Open office space is designed with interior private or semi-private office spaces. Huddle rooms, lunch and meeting rooms using substantially low barrier bench desking as the standard. The facility also contains a new ACF with vented animal caging, operatory, and support space. We have created an H3 level storage/lab, hazardous chemical storage area, and general lab storage – all on the 9th floor.

Codiak BioSciences is a venture-backed start-up dedicated to harnessing the power of exosomes in the treatment cancer and other diseases. VIVO was retained to design new facilities for Codiak’s move to 18,920 sf at 500 Technology Sq. in the heart of Kendall Square in Cambridge.
Previously constructed for multiple tenants, the labs have been re-purposed for Codiak’s science and research and include BSL-1 and general lab use. Open office space is designed with interior private or semi-private office spaces, huddle rooms, lunch and meeting areas, and workstations using low, bench style desking as a standard. The facility also contains an animal care facility with vented animal cages, operatory and support spaces.
